Fun Stuff

My Hometown

I was born and raised in Somerset, KY (about 1 hour from Williamsburg). Somerset has changed a lot since I lived there. I remember when Highway 27 from Somerset south to Burnside was surrounded by farmland. Now it's pretty much businesses and traffic lights all the way.

UC

I discovered UC (then called Cumberland College) when my church hired a youth minister who had just graduated from here. He brought the youth group over a few times for concerts. There were five or six people out of that youth group that ended up coming here and evenutally graduating.

Me and the Internet

I'm older than the Internet, literally, but not quite the concept of it. The predecessor of the Internet, called ARPANET, was conceptualized in 1960 and the first connection between two computers was 1969. Most people today think of the World Wide Web as the "Internet" and that didn't come around until the early 90's. My first experience with the Internet was here at UC (then CC) around 1990. The first website was published in August of 1991. Details here: Click here for details
